Miss Clarke Farm Visit
Wed 19 Jul 2023A huge thanks to Miss Clarke and her dad who came to speak to us this afternoon about how farming has evolved and how maths and science play an important role each day to keep many parts of the farm running smoothly. We had lots of fun on the tractor and quad bike too with our buddies!!

The Island that Rocks 2023

Farm Week Launch
Wed 12 Jul 2023This morning, we were visited by Katie from LEAF Education and Elaine (a local farmer from Croston). Elaine gave us a tour around her dairy farm live on Zoom; we were able to ask lots of questions along the way. It was a great launch to Farm Week which will begin next week…

Careers Day 2023
Mon 10 Jul 2023Pupils had the fantastic opportunity to meet and speak with a range of professionals this morning in order to develop their understanding of work opportunities and raise aspirations about their future career paths. Thanks for organising Mrs Chamberlain.

Year 2 sharing assembly
Fri 07 Jul 2023Well done to everyone in Year 2 for a fantastic assembly this morning! They all learnt their lines and performed them clearly and confidently to tell everyone what we have been learning in Summer 2. Thanks to all the parents who came along to watch.

YEAR 2 SCIENCE AND DT DAY
Wed 05 Jul 2023Today the children came to school dressed as their favourite character from their book The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We had a selection of lighthouse keepers, Mrs Grinlings and even a seagull!
The children investigated which everyday material would be most suitable to make a boat, made the base of their vehicles and even had a picnic in class!

SPORTS DAY 2023
Fri 30 Jun 2023Although not as planned, the children showed fantastic resilience and enjoyed taking part in their sports day activities in school today!

Holes
Thu 29 Jun 2023Year 6 have read the book ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. One of the deadly creatures that the boys in the story must avoid is the yellow-spotted lizard. We researched these venomous reptiles and wrote non-chronological reports to share the information that we found out.
