WELCOME TO YEAR 2!
In Year 2 you will find Miss Callagher (Class Teacher), Mrs Hull and Mrs Ryan (Teaching Assistants) working along side a class of enthusiastic learners. As the children are the top of Key Stage One we strive to promote responsibility and independence in our children who will be setting a good example to others.
Our theme for the year, linked to our Seven Skills of the Steward, is 'Team-working'; we strive to encourage children to develop their skills of working together to achieve their full potential. So far this year we have read 'Have you filled a bucket today?' and discussed how we can all achieve more if we fill each others buckets by working together, supporting each other, listening to others and sharing our ideas.
Reading is as important as ever in Year 2, we are striving to promote a love of reading, in order to do this we are promoting reading for pleasure as well as our children learning to read. To help us with this please read with your child at home daily and sign and return reading books on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Our PE lessons will take place every Monday and Wednesday therefore children should come into school in full PE kit on these days.
We are looking forward to working with your children this year and hope they enjoy Year 2!
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Callagher and the Year 2 team.
