Summer 1
The Holy Trinity Artwork

In RE, the children have been learning about the Holy Trinity. They have explored some of the symbols that are used. For our Purposeful End Point, the children create their own artwork for church. The prayer hands represent praying to God and the blue and green symbolise him being the creator of the world. The cross represents Jesus dying on the cross and the red and purple show Jesus' blood and his royalty. Finally, the Holy Spirit is a dove and the orange and yellow show it being a guiding light.
Water Transportation Experiment

In science, the children have been learning about water transportation within plants. They learned that stems have tiny tubes that carry the water from the roots to the rest of the plant. We tested this out by putting gel food colouring in the water and placing a white flower into the water. Overtime, the flower turned blue! How exciting!
Maths Purposeful End Point - Money

The children pretended to be waiters/waitresses and had to calculate the total of some orders in a cafe.
Maths Purposeful End Point - Fractions

The focus for this unit was finding out unit and non-unit fractions of amounts. The children worked in small groups to solve a question on a card which would lead them to an answer on another card. They had fun running around the playground to find these question cards whilst also doing maths.
