In English, we are focusing on sci-fi stories. We have immersed ourselves in so many tales about aliens, robots, the future, and space. We have identified all the key features of the genre and are now exploring characterisation. We invented a new character for a sci-fi story and then used the novel Blast Off! Space School by Tony Bradman to inspire some dramatic scenes with our characters. We had great fun and can’t wait to include these scenes in our stories during the writing phase!

We are now writing our sci fi stories to entertain Year 2 next week! We are fully armed with all the features, have plenty ideas and we are working our way through the stages of a story. We are editing and redrafing as we go and we really hope that the Year 2's will enjoy our story and perhaps be inspired to write their own or invent their own futuristic character.
