Autumn 2

🎨 Macro Photography in Year 6! 📸 Year 6 explored macro photography — inspired by Edward Weston’s stunning close-ups of natural objects. Working in pairs, the children photographed fruits and vegetables, focusing on the tiny shapes, patterns and textures we often miss. They showed brilliant teamwork and creativity throughout! Take a look at some of our close-ups below... can you guess the fruit or veg?

Year 6 explored the beautiful world of O Antiphon art—stunning images that capture different titles for Jesus as we prepare for Christmas. The children sorted the images into their favourite order, explained what they could see, what it tells them about Jesus and what they liked about each piece.

Year 6 Prayer and Liturgy Monitors led Key Stage 2 prayer and liturgy focusing on the lighting of the second Advent candle: Peace. They guided the children in reflection, prayer and Scripture, helping everyone to think about how we can bring peace into our school, our homes and our wider community during this Advent season.

Year 6 have been working on a design brief to create posters for a department store. Using products from the kitchen, garden, beauty or toy departments, the children carefully selected objects to build their own cityscape-style poster. They learned how everyday items can be arranged to look like buildings and skylines, producing creative and imaginative final designs. Well done, Year 6!
