We are having an exciting day in school. First of all we have had a 'virtual assembly' which was delivered by an ambassador from TechSheCan (https://www.facebook.com/TechSheCan/). We learnt about lots of different jobs in gaming/sports and history - animators, special effects designers, archaeologists, biomechanists and product designers to name but a few! Then we moved on creating our own Virtual Reality World and after lunch we are going to design our own interactive toys.

  • Anti-Bullying Performance

Mon 20 Nov 2023 Miss Duffy

A great performance from Altru Drama today full of fun and humour but with some excellent underlying messages around bullying and the effects it can have on people. Think: is it actually ‘just a laugh’?  Year 4 and Year 6 then enjoyed some workshops afterwards.

It was great to see how well our children worked together using their team working superskill!! There will be a news feature on the event on BBC local news tomorrow so keep a look out!!

  • All Saints Day Year 6

Wed 01 Nov 2023 Miss Duffy

To celebrate All Saints Day, we have learnt all about Oscar Romero who was trying to be like Jesus. In El Salvador, there is a tradition of producing colourful crucifixes. The bright decorations have a figure of Jesus at the centre but also include images of the local community set in a Salvadoran landscape. They have become known as Romero crosses; we have created our own Romero crosses for our community here at St Gregory's.

We responded to Pope Francis' letter asking us to care for our common home. Someone who can help us with this is the Prime Minister - Rishi Sunak. We have all written him a letter asking him to help us to make the Earth a better place. Can you be like Oscar Romero?
